Tech Support

Step-by-step help for logging in, managing rosters, assigning activities, and troubleshooting common issues.

Getting Started

Teachers can log in to MathVoice using an email address and password to access their account.

  1. Go to the PowerMyLearning login page.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Select Log In.

Teachers can log in to MathVoice through the Clever Portal and open it directly from their Clever dashboard.

  1. Go to the Clever Portal.
  2. Sign in using your Clever credentials.
  3. Find the PowerMyLearning icon in your Clever dashboard.
  4. Select the PowerMyLearning icon to open MathVoice.

Students can log in using QR codes printed or displayed by the teacher. QR codes work at school and at home.

To print and share QR codes:

  1. Select Classes in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select a class.
  3. Select Print QR Code at the top right of the page.
  4. Select individual students or the entire class.
  5. Select Print.

To log in using a QR code:

  1. Scan the QR code.
  2. Enter the student's first name initial + the teacher's last name (e.g. sWilliams).

Tips

  • Share the QR in a durable format, like laminated or taped inside a student folder.
  • Before sharing broadly, test a few student accounts on school devices.
  • Encourage students to share the QR code and login instructions with their family partner.

Students can access MathVoice through their Clever Portal after logging in with their Clever credentials.

  1. Go to the Clever Portal.
  2. Log in using the student's Clever credentials.
  3. Find the PowerMyLearning icon in the Clever dashboard.
  4. Select the PowerMyLearning icon to open MathVoice.
Class Management

Teachers can manually add students and family partner contact information directly in MathVoice.

  1. Select Classes in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select a class.
  3. Select Roster at the top of the page.
  4. Select Add Students & Family Partners.
  5. Select Enter Manually.
  6. Enter the student's information.
  7. Enter the family partner's information.
  8. Select Done.

Teachers can upload a full class roster using an Excel template — the fastest way to add multiple students at once.

  1. Select Classes in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select a class.
  3. Select Roster at the top of the page.
  4. Select Add Students & Family Partners.
  5. Select Upload With Excel.
  6. Select Download our Excel Template.
  7. Fill out the template and save it as an Excel file.
  8. Select Choose File and upload the completed template.
  9. Select Next, then Go to Class Roster to review.

Teachers can remove students from a class roster if a student is no longer in the class.

  1. Select Classes in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select a class.
  3. Select Roster at the top of the page.
  4. Select the three dots next to the student's name.
  5. Select Remove Student.
  6. Select Remove Student once more to confirm.

Teachers can update student or family partner names, contact information, and home language in the class roster.

  1. Select Classes in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select a class.
  3. Select Roster at the top of the page.
  4. Select the three dots next to the student's name.
  5. Select Edit Student & Family Partner(s).
  6. Update the information.
  7. Select Done.

Assignments

Teachers can assign MathVoice activities to their class by selecting and scheduling them on specific dates.

  1. Select the Class Playlist for your grade level.
  2. Preview activities by clicking a title (opens in a new tab).
  3. Select the checkbox next to each activity you want to assign.
  4. Click Assign.
  5. Select your class in the assignment window.
  6. Click the calendar icon and choose a date.
  7. Click Schedule.
  8. Repeat for additional activities as needed.
  9. Click Save, then Close.

Tips

  • You can edit scheduled dates before saving.
  • Only one assignment can be scheduled per day per class.
  • Greyed-out dates already have scheduled assignments.

At-home activities are assigned similarly to in-class ones, but are intended for completion with family partners outside of school.

  1. Sign in to your MathVoice teacher account.
  2. Click Library.
  3. Open the Class Playlist for your grade level.
  4. Select the checkbox next to each at-home activity you want to assign.
  5. Click Assign.
  6. Select your class.
  7. Use the calendar icon to choose a due date.
  8. Click Schedule, then Save, then Close.

Tips

  • Ensure family partner contact information is added so families receive notifications.
  • Choose dates that allow families enough time to complete the activity together.

Teachers can review student submissions, analyze AI insights, and access recommended next steps directly within each activity.

  1. Sign in to your MathVoice educator account.
  2. Click Classes and select a class.
  3. Click on an activity.
  4. Review class-level insights: overall depth of reasoning, and which students met learning targets.
  5. Select an individual student to watch their video response and view their transcript.
  6. Review Learning Targets and Foundational Skills insights.
  7. Click Student Feedback to see the student's self-rating.
  8. Return to the activity overview and click Next Steps for recommended follow-up activities.

Tips

  • Use insights to guide small-group instruction or reteaching.
  • Next Steps include links to additional instructional resources.
Troubleshooting

MathVoice requires a stable internet connection. Performance issues are usually caused by network speed or connectivity.

  1. Confirm the device is connected to the internet.
  2. Check that the connection meets minimum requirements: 2 Mbps download, 1 Mbps upload.
  3. Use a stronger connection if available (5 Mbps or higher recommended).
  4. Confirm that network latency is below 150 ms.
  5. Ensure that port 443 (HTTPS) is allowed on the network.

MathVoice does not support offline use.

MathVoice requires a supported device and browser. Only the latest two versions of each OS and browser are supported.

Supported operating systems: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, ChromeOS

Supported browsers: Google Chrome (recommended), Firefox, Safari (Mac/iOS only), Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based only)

  1. Update the operating system to one of the latest two versions.
  2. Update the browser to one of the latest two versions.

MathVoice does not support Internet Explorer, legacy Edge, or beta operating systems.

MathVoice requires access to both a microphone and camera. If either is blocked, recording may not work.

  1. Open the browser settings.
  2. Locate Microphone permissions and allow access.
  3. Locate Camera permissions and allow access.
  4. Refresh the MathVoice page.
  5. Confirm the device has a working microphone and camera.

Devices without microphone or camera access are not supported.

Login issues are usually caused by browser settings or an unsupported environment.

  1. Confirm the device is connected to the internet.
  2. Open a supported browser (Chrome recommended).
  3. Update the browser to one of the latest two versions.
  4. Enable third-party cookies in the browser settings.
  5. Refresh the login page and try again.

MathVoice does not support outdated browsers or blocked cookies for Clever or ClassLink login.

QR code issues are usually caused by camera permissions or an unsupported browser.

  1. Open the device's default browser: Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS.
  2. Allow access to the camera when prompted.
  3. Confirm the browser is updated to one of the latest two versions.
  4. Confirm the device is connected to the internet.
  5. Scan the QR code again.

Video submission issues are usually caused by permissions or connectivity.

  1. Allow access to Microphone in the browser settings.
  2. Allow access to Camera in the browser settings.
  3. Confirm the device has a working microphone and camera.
  4. Confirm the device is connected to the internet.
  5. Update the browser to one of the latest two versions.
  6. Refresh the page and try again.

MathVoice requires both microphone and camera access and does not support offline use.

MathVoice supports the latest two versions of each supported OS and browser.

Supported devices: Windows or macOS (desktop/laptop), iOS or Android (mobile/tablet), ChromeOS (Chromebook)

Supported browsers: Google Chrome (recommended), Firefox, Safari (Mac and iOS only), Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based only)
